Protest Etiquette - Do's and Do Not's

So you’ve decided to PROTEST

Here’s what to do and not to do…

D0 Peaceful Protest

DO stay only on public sidewalks or other walk areas on the public right-of-way

DO stay on the outside 5 feet of the sidewalk (next to the curb)

DO make signs of cardboard and/or paper placards

DO disperse when directed by a police officer

DO demonstrate on foot

DO marching in single file

DO NOT make excessive noise

DO NOT use vehicles of any kind in protests

DO NOT disguise weapons in signs

DO NOT pickets in groups larger than 15 persons

DO NOT block ingress or egress of any business or public facility.

DO NOT block free passage of any street or sidewalk

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY – if you get arrested … DO NOT SAY A WORD!
